About Us
HOW DID MILVOZ COME TO LIFE?
'Milvoz - Associação de Protecção e Conservação da Natureza', was born in May 2019 from the desire of a group of citizens to give voice and represent the natural heritage of the region of Coimbra, in Portugal, ensuring its preservation.
OUR VALUES
In a region dominated by highly degraded habitats and extensive forestry monocultures, Milvoz intends to value the native forest as well as all the biodiversity that depends on it. We seek to transmit the correct knowledge to the local community, which benefits native fauna and flora through sustainable and nature-friendly management models.
OUR GOALS
We seek to valorize, protect and expand areas of high ecological value, not only through the creation of a network of Bio-Reserves in biodiverse areas with a strong native Portuguese forest but also by preserving the landscape and rural areas. Milvoz proposes to acquire land for environmental management and conservation purposes and promote volunteer, social and didactic initiatives involving the population. We practice environmental education with a scientific basis and carry out projects to study biodiversity aiming at nature conservation.
