The Morena Bio-Reserve hosted another activity, this time a guided tour in partnership with Centro PINUS, to celebrate the Native Forest Day! Is there a more suitable place than this to celebrate the richness of the region's native vegetation? 🙂

After an initial briefing at the meeting point, we set off across the Bio-Reserve valley to discover the stunning wealth of native vegetation that thrives in this location. Strawberry trees, laurels, dogwoods, holm oaks, oaks and pines captured the attention of the participants. The great diversity of mosses, lichens and ferns allowed us to observe fascinating details in this place so full of life, continuously protected by Milvoz.

Here too, the fauna finds the perfect refuge! To monitor it, Milvoz uses a very useful tool: camera traps. Together with the participants, we collected the files from two cameras installed on site, which revealed the abundance of wild mammals that rarely allow direct observation. We were able to see footage of genets, badgers, foxes, wild boars and roe deers, which had passed, days or hours earlier, by the place where we were watching their recordings together!

Birds also had our attention. We highlighted the occurrence of rare species that use the various habitats of the Morena Bio-Reserve for feeding, nesting or refuge. Whether in dense scrubland, cool woods or rocky areas, there are fascinating species to discover!
