The icy cold of January brought with it the beautiful annual event "Encontro de Gaiteiros" in Almalaguês. Now in its ninth edition, this cultural festival featured the participation of Milvoz, which organized an interpretive walk through the Senhora da Alegria Bio-Reserve and a talk about the history of this place.

This presentation, part of the Aldeias de Portugal project, of which we are partners, highlighted the Senhora da Alegria Bio-Reserve as a place that, despite being a wild ecosystem, also holds significant cultural value. Since this space is undeniably rich in both aspects, it is crucial to harmonize these two interconnected themes as much as possible. Milvoz shared thus the research and surveys conducted so far.

During the walk, there was time to discuss the different types of existing habitats, the importance of native forests, and the various ecosystem services that we can witness in the reserve’s valley. Visitors could witness firsthand the transformations brought by winter, which, even at its peak, can't dim the radiance of beauty that flourishes here!
