Iberian union against invasive species

This weekend, Milvoz travelled to Galicia and joined the Montescola Foundation for a training on invasive plants. We visited the Lousame hills and took part in control actions, observing a reality that is very similar to that of some regions in Portugal, with acacia and eucalyptus as dominant species in the forest cover. We would like to highlight the positive results of the native regeneration of vegetation in the areas already intervened on by the Deucaliptising Brigades, an excellent example that must be replicated.

We also had the collaboration of the researcher Elizabete Marchante, whose presentation on invasive species, especially the Australian blackwood, was essential for sharing effective control methods.

We are thankful for the moments of experience sharing and hope that these initiatives continue to grow in Portugal and Spain!
