The "Faixas Vivas" have arrived

In the face of the numerous flaws and problems inherent in the Portuguese Integrated Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR), Milvoz decided to take action in an attempt to improve it, joining forces with other associations and citizens. We decided to gather a group of motivated people to fight against the unfounded idea that fighting the devastating wildfires of Portuguese summers means eliminating extensive, biodiverse forest areas.

Following a long statement in which Milvoz outlined its position on the SGIFR, the Faixas Vivas movement launched a manifesto where we explain in detail what can be done to improve Portuguese legislation concerning forest fire management.
